MR. LEONARD SLAVIT: The year 2007 is the 50th anniversary of the founding of Levine & Slavit. Levine & Slavit has been specializing in the practice of law in the field of negligence and personal injury. I have been asked often enough by clients and by friends why a lawyer, why do you do the type of law that you do. It's because we help people who are injured through no fault of their own who need the help and we enjoy involving and being useful to them.

MR. IRA SLAVIT: When we meet with a client for the first time we're trying to get as much information as we can from the client about how the accident happened, who may have seen the accident, what the injuries are and how the accident or the injuries is affecting that person.

MR. LEONARD SLAVIT: We deal with people. It's more than just looking at law books being in a back room.

MR. IRA SLAVIT: I like to tell clients that we're not representing them and we're not going to court because we can show a jury on a piece of paper what the injuries are, or we've copied, written down what's in a hospital record and show the jury, here's the paper, this says that you were hurt.

We're presenting a person to a jury. A person who has been affected, whose life has been disrupted and they're family's lives have been disrupted. We're asking the jury to evaluate the entire situation as it affects a person, not as it just affects words or legal documents.

MR. LEONARD SLAVIT: We try to get the best results for our clients and help them through a time that is not anticipated by them, not wanted by them. Our job is to get the best result and have them have this burden lifted off their shoulder and go on with their lives.
