MR. IRA SLAVIT: From time to time we here news reports of recalls of tires and child restraint car seats that unfortunately the recalls don't get made until after someone or more than one has been injured or killed as a result of the defective product.
Up until now there has been no easy way to alert consumers that they may be riding on tires that are dangerous or having their precious infant in a car seat that has already been recalled. There is now the ability to sign up for automatic emails and notices to your personalized home page whenever a tire or child seat is recalled.
